Ablepreneurs is a business support and learning community for disabled, chronically ill and neurodivergent entrepreneurs and professionals.

We do not request, collect or verify medical diagnoses, health histories, treatment details or disability evidence as part of our membership registration, event attendance or purchasing processes.

No medical information or proof of disability is required to access our services.

Members may voluntarily refer to their personal experiences during community discussions, posts, messages or live sessions. We do not ask members to disclose such information and encourage everyone to share only what they feel comfortable sharing.

Where voluntarily shared contributions contain sensitive personal information, we take reasonable steps to protect confidentiality, restrict access appropriately and remove information where required by law.

We do not use health or disability information to assess eligibility, create medical profiles, target advertising or make assumptions about an individual's capabilities.

Members must respect the privacy of others and must not disclose another person's sensitive information without appropriate authority.

If a member requests an accessibility adjustment, we encourage them to explain what adjustment would help rather than providing medical details.

5. How We Obtain Information

We collect information:

  • Directly from you when you register, purchase, subscribe, attend, post or contact us.

  • Automatically through website technologies, cookies, account systems and security logs.

  • From payment providers when they confirm or administer transactions.

  • Through WhatsApp or Meta where you voluntarily participate.

Where we receive personal information indirectly, we provide relevant privacy information where required by law.

6. Why We Use Information and Our Lawful Bases

Special category information

The Article 6 bases above do not, by themselves, authorise the processing of special category personal data.

Where member contributions, recordings or accessibility requests contain such information, we must also establish an applicable Article 9 condition before the relevant processing.

Explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) may be used where appropriate and validly obtained through a separate process. Other Article 9 conditions may apply to specific activities where their legal requirements are met.

We do not assume that information shared in our private community has been manifestly made public.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we assess the impact on individuals' rights and freedoms.

Some information is necessary to create accounts, fulfil purchases or comply with legal obligations. Optional information will be identified or made clear.

7. Service Messages and Marketing

We distinguish between essential service communications and marketing.

Essential communications include account information, payment receipts, event access details, membership changes and security notifications.

Marketing may include newsletters, promotions, new products, events and partner-related opportunities.

We send electronic marketing where we have appropriate consent or where the law permits an existing-customer soft opt-in.

Marketing consent is separate from acceptance of our Terms & Conditions.

You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link provided in our emails or by contacting hello@ablepreneurs.co.uk.

Unsubscribing does not prevent us from sending essential service communications.

We do not provide Trusted Partners with member contact lists for their independent marketing.

8. Privacy Within Our Community

Ablepreneurs provides a private, gated community.

Members may be able to view your profile, name, posts and contributions within the spaces they are authorised to access.

Although we take reasonable steps to protect community privacy, no online community can guarantee absolute confidentiality.

Other members may be technically capable of taking screenshots, copying information or sharing material in breach of our rules.

Members must respect the confidentiality and privacy of others.

Our Terms & Conditions and Community Code prohibit unauthorised sharing or misuse of another person's private, sensitive or confidential information.

We may review, restrict or remove content where reasonably necessary for moderation, safety, legal compliance or enforcement of community rules.

9. Optional WhatsApp Community

WhatsApp may be offered as an optional companion space for informal discussion and support.

Participation is voluntary and is not required to receive essential membership information.

If you join, WhatsApp and Meta may process your telephone number, profile details and communications in accordance with their own privacy arrangements.

Other participants may be able to see your telephone number, profile name, photograph and messages, depending on the group settings.

Leaving WhatsApp does not cancel your Ablepreneurs membership.

We do not automatically add WhatsApp participants to a separate marketing list.

10. Live Sessions, Recordings and Transcription

Ablepreneurs uses Zoom and Google Meet to deliver online networking sessions, Business Development Talks (BDTs), masterclasses, workshops and other community activities.

Recording of Sessions

We do not routinely record community networking meetings, body doubling sessions, informal discussions or breakout rooms.

We may record Business Development Talks (BDTs) and masterclasses to provide educational replays to authorised community members or customers.

Participants will be informed when a session is being recorded. Where practical, attendees may choose to keep their cameras and microphones switched off to minimise identifiable participation.

Recordings may capture presenters' names, images, voices, presentations and shared materials, as well as attendee questions, chat messages or contributions made during the recorded portion of a session.

We aim to avoid recording confidential conversations, personal disclosures or sensitive discussions wherever reasonably practical.

Access to Recordings

Recordings of BDTs and community masterclasses may be made available within the relevant private membership area.

  • Community recordings are accessible only to members with appropriate access.

  • Separately purchased courses or masterclasses remain accessible for the advertised access period.

  • Where a product includes "lifetime access", this means for as long as Ablepreneurs continues to provide and host that product, rather than an unconditional guarantee of permanent access.

Recordings will not be published publicly or used for promotional or marketing purposes without appropriate, separate permission from identifiable participants.

We may edit recordings to remove technical interruptions, confidential information, inappropriate contributions or content that should not remain available.

Captions, Transcription and AI-Assisted Tools

We may use built-in Zoom or Google Meet features, or other approved tools, to provide captions, transcription or accessibility support.

Where sessions are recorded or AI-assisted transcription or summarisation is enabled, we will explain the arrangements to participants.

We do not upload identifiable member recordings, confidential discussions or sensitive personal information into external generative AI tools for general content creation.

Where approved service providers process personal information through AI-enabled features, we will assess the relevant privacy and security arrangements and apply appropriate data protection safeguards.

Our Ethical AI & Responsible Use Policy explains our approach to responsible AI use.

12. Third-Party Privacy Information

Relevant privacy policies include:

Provider arrangements and links may change.

13. International Data Transfers

Some service providers or their group companies may process personal information outside the United Kingdom, including within the European Economic Area or United States.

Where a restricted international transfer occurs, we use or require appropriate safeguards where necessary.

These may include UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved EU Standard Contractual Clauses or another legally permitted mechanism.

You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to a particular transfer.

14. How Long We Keep Information

14. How Long We Keep Personal Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, administer memberships, process purchases, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.

We generally retain member account information while an account remains active. When a membership ends, or an account is closed, we review the information and delete or anonymise it when no longer required.

Community contributions and educational recordings are retained only while they remain relevant to the community or the services purchased, subject to applicable legal obligations and individual data protection rights.

Financial and transaction records are retained for the periods required by applicable tax and accounting legislation.

Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time. We may retain limited information necessary to honour unsubscribe requests.

Information stored by our service providers, including Systeme.io, is subject to their technical retention and backup arrangements. We manage personal information within those systems in accordance with our legal responsibilities.

We periodically review the information we hold and delete or anonymise personal information when it is no longer necessary, subject to legal and legitimate retention requirements.

You may request deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@ablepreneurs.co.uk. Requests will be considered in accordance with applicable data protection law.

15. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, accidental loss, alteration, misuse or disclosure.

Measures may include access restrictions, account controls, secure payment processing, confidentiality arrangements, supplier assessments and appropriate business-controlled systems.

We also consider privacy and security risks when adopting AI-enabled tools.

No internet-based service can guarantee complete security.

Members are responsible for protecting their login credentials and should notify us promptly if they suspect unauthorised access.

Where a personal data breach creates a legal obligation to notify affected individuals or the Information Commissioner's Office, we will do so in accordance with applicable law.

16. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your personal information is used.

  • Request access to personal information held about you.

  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Request deletion of personal information.

  • Request restriction of processing.

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

  • Object to direct marketing at any time.

  • Request data portability where applicable.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

These rights are not absolute, and legal exceptions may apply.

To exercise your rights, email hello@ablepreneurs.co.uk.

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity.

We normally respond within one month, although applicable law allows extensions in certain circumstances.

We do not normally charge a fee, but limited exceptions apply under data protection law.

17. Automated Decisions and Profiling

Ablepreneurs does not make decisions about individuals that produce legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.

We may use basic automation to deliver emails, manage membership access, record communication preferences or provide purchased products.

We do not use health or disability disclosures to create medical profiles, assess eligibility or target advertising.

Significant decisions affecting members remain subject to appropriate human involvement.

18. Artificial Intelligence and Personal Information

Ablepreneurs may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support content creation, research, administration, accessibility, communications and educational resources.

We are committed to using AI responsibly, transparently and in ways that respect the privacy, dignity and rights of individuals.

We do not enter identifiable member information, personal health or disability details, or confidential member conversations into external generative AI tools for general content generation.

Where AI is used for planning, research or educational content, we may use anonymised examples where individuals cannot reasonably be identified.

AI-assisted outputs are subject to appropriate human oversight.

We do not use generative AI independently to make significant decisions about membership eligibility, access to support, opportunities or other matters materially affecting individuals.

Before adopting AI-enabled services that may process personal information, we consider their privacy and security arrangements and apply appropriate safeguards.

Further information about our approach to responsible AI use is available in our separate Ethical AI & Responsible Use Policy.

19. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for account access, checkout, website functionality and security.

Other analytics, advertising or tracking technologies are used only where permitted by law and, where required, after appropriate consent.

Visitors should be able to reject non-essential cookies as easily as they accept them and change their preferences later.

Further information is provided in our Cookie Notice and cookie settings.

20. External Links

Our website and community may contain links to external websites, social networks, resources or Trusted Partners.

When you access an external service, that organisation may collect and process personal information under its own privacy arrangements.

Ablepreneurs is not automatically responsible for independent third-party processing simply because we provide a link.

We encourage you to review relevant third-party privacy notices.

21. Changes to This Privacy Notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes to our services, technology, suppliers or legal obligations.

We will publish the latest version on our website with an updated date.

Where changes materially affect how we process existing personal information, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required by law.
